DENVER (KDVR) — Newly sworn-in Mayor Mike Johnston is already planning to roll up his sleeves and get to work.Johnston wasted no time by starting to chip away at what he said were priorities in the city, including homelessness and public safety. He and other city officials took the oath of office on Monday, and less than 24 hours in, he’s making an announcement on what he called the "homeless crisis." DENVER (KDVR) -- An 18-year-old man was arrested at Denver International Airport on Friday for his alleged connection to a known foreign terrorist group, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Colorado said Monday.Davin Daniel Meyer was charged with attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization. He made his first court appearance on Monday, according to the release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Colorado. DENVER (KDVR) — A man was arrested after crashing a reportedly stolen truck into a patrol vehicle and injuring a deputy in Superior.At 6:30 a.m. Monday, Boulder County Sheriff's deputies were called to a stolen vehicle in the town of Superior. The vehicle was a maroon Ford F-150 that had been stolen out of Denver earlier in the month, according to the sheriff's office. Castle Rock man charged for terrorist ties Deputies located the vehicle at a gas station on McCaslin Boulevard and identified the suspect as 22-year-old Miguel Angel Roman Arellano.In order to stop Arellano from escaping, deputies attempted a "pinch maneuver." Police said the crash happened at East Louisiana Avenue and South Birch Street around 5 a.m. A dark-colored SUV traveling westbound on East Louisiana hit a bicyclist, which damaged the SUV's headlight, and took off. 3 killed, 2 seriously injured in Aurora rollover crash The bicyclist died from the injuries they sustained in the crash, police said.
