Gov. Gavin Newsom proposed Thursday an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would dramatically roll back gun rights enshrined in the Second Amendment since the nation’s founding.“The American people are sick of Congress’ inaction,” Newsom said through his personal Twitter account.His proposed 28th Amendment to the constitution, he said in a tweet that included a video of him dressed in a blue suit and tie describing his proposal, would enshrine four “widely supported gun safety freedoms — while leaving the 2nd Amendment intact.”His proposal calls for raising the minimum age to purchase any gun to 21, universal background checks on all gun transfers, a “reasonable” waiting period for gun buyers to pick up their weapon and banning the civilian purchase of “assault weapons.”NEW: I’m proposing the 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution to help end our nation’s gun violence crisis.The American people are sick ...One injured, one displaced in kitchen fire in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- One person is being hospitalized and another is displaced after a first-alarm fire in San Francisco's Potrero Hill neighborhood, according to the San Francisco Fire Department. (KRON) -- A routine traffic stop in Livermore on Wednesday lead to one man being arrested on drugs and weapons charges, according to the Livermore Police Department. Livermore PD officers stopped a Chevy Silverado on North Greenville Road at around 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, for vehicle code violations. San Jose rampage suspect worked for Google, had meth problem: court documents A search of the vehicle uncovered an un-serialized Polymer 80 Glock 9 handgun concealed in the center console, police said. A secondary magazine and ammunition were also uncovered. PETALUMA, Calif. (KRON) – The Petaluma Police Department conducted a decoy operation Wednesday night to check the compliance of the city’s tobacco vendors. Officer locates stolen firearm, two arrested in Petaluma The operation involved teenaged adult decoys who visited 17 tobacco licensed businesses and attempted to purchase tobacco products from each vendor.
